How buying works

  1. You pay on Lemon Squeezy. By card, PayPal and more.
  2. Your license key is generated. It is a code like XXXXXXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXXXXXXXXX. You see it on the confirmation screen and it is emailed to you. Copy it (select it or use Lemon Squeezy's copy button) and keep it.
  3. Paste it in the app. When you go to save or download your organized chat, paste it in the “Already have a key?” field. A pack key works for several conversions until they run out; the app remembers it in this browser.

How do I export the chat?

Android

  1. Open the chat.
  2. Tap ⋮ (More options) › More › Export chat.
  3. Choose "Include media".

iPhone

  1. Open the chat.
  2. Tap the contact or group name.
  3. Tap Export Chat and choose "Attach Media".

This creates a ZIP file with the chat and its files.

How do I get the ZIP onto my computer?
  1. When exporting, pick WhatsApp in the share menu and send it to yourself (your own chat, shown as "You" or "Message yourself").
  2. On your computer open web.whatsapp.com (or WhatsApp Desktop) and go to your own chat.
  3. Download the ZIP.

You can also save it to Files or Drive, or email it to yourself if it is small.

How do I delete the chat files without losing the conversation?

It is the same procedure as step 4.

  1. First check that everything was saved to your cloud (look at the folders in Drive or the downloaded ZIP).
  2. In WhatsApp, open the chat.
  3. Tap More options › More › Clear chat.
  4. Choose “Media files only” and confirm.

The chat's photos, videos, audio and documents are deleted from your phone, but the text messages stay. Important: only do it after checking that everything is saved.

Are my chats uploaded to a server?

No. Everything is processed in your browser. Files only travel to the cloud you choose (for example your Google Drive), never to a server of ours.

What happens to the chat text?

It is discarded. Only photos, videos, audio and documents are organized; messages are never uploaded.

How much does it cost?

Seeing how your folders will look is free. To save them (to Google Drive or as an organized ZIP) you pay USD 5 per conversion, USD 12 for a pack of 3 or USD 18 for a pack of 5. A conversion is one chat ZIP processed and saved. You pay with Lemon Squeezy (card, PayPal and more) and you do not need to create an account.

What if something goes wrong?

If no file is saved, the conversion is automatically returned to your key and is not deducted. If something else happened, write to us at info@backi.app and we will sort it out.

How do I move my WhatsApp photos to Google Drive?

Export the chat with files from WhatsApp, upload the ZIP here and check the preview. Then pick Google Drive, connect your account and a new folder is created with your photos by topic, videos, audio and documents sorted. If you would rather not connect anything, download the already organized ZIP.

Does it work with iPhone and Android?

Yes. You export the chat from WhatsApp on iPhone or Android, and the page works from your phone or computer browser, with no app to install. For very large chats a computer is a better fit.
